Marathon Day!!

I finished!!! I ran 26.2 miles, and believe it or not, it was one of the greatest days of my life. There was a lot of cheering and a great friend ran the first 9 with me, so that was easy. Mile 14-21 were really hard, but once I made it to 23 I started crying, not because of pain(though there was plenty) but because I couldn't believe that all of the training and hard work was about to pay off. When I made it to the last half mile, I took off and sprinted to the end as fast as I could. When I entered the stadium, there was 40+ friends and family screaming my name and crying with me. It gave me a hint of what the gates of Heaven must feel like!! Thank you for your prayers, thank you for your financial support to World Vision- but most of all, thanks for being such great family and friends!!!!!

Also, Keri ran 6!!! Josh ran 13!! Way to go family!

Big Helper

Josh and Pa Rik were landscaping today and Lucas was a huge help. He helped dig each hole, fill dirt, and whatever else they told him to do. At one point he had 3 frogs in a flower pot that he kept picking up to show me. He said "mom, look at this toad, his name is Frog."

First Day of School!!

Today was Lucas's first day of school!! I can't believe it. I was so worried about dropping him off, and had all these visions of him kicking and screaming and yelling for mommy.......that didn't happen. He ran to the door, plowed everyone over to be first, and didn't even wave goodbye!! Although I had a few tears in my eyes, I am excited for his new
adventure. Where does time go??

Attack of the Birds

Wildwood Beach

We just got back from Wildwood NJ with my parents and sister, and we could not have asked for a better week. We saw a ton of family that we have not seen in a long time, the weather was perfect- 85 and no clouds every day! We had a great condo on the boardwalk and beach. Lucas and Nathan loved the beach- every wave was an adventure for Lucas, complete Joy. Nathan could not crawl fast enough in the sand, he loved the feeling of where the water hit the sand and would crawl for hours. The boys also started playing well together- acting like brothers, I loved it. My grandmother had some great days and got to play cars with Lucas and hold Nathan while he watched a movie. My grandfather is doing great too and came to the beach!! It was good to come home, but Lucas kept asking for his new home. Then we figured out that he thought the condo was his new home. Ha. I guess he would rather share a room with Keri. Thank you Lord, man was it a great week!!
