Fall

LOTS to catch up on. Lots. The blog memory was full- whatever that means. So with Josh's help, we are back on.. To sum up a few months...Incredible weekend in Chicago seeing my favorite band in the world-friends- soccer- family fun- and whatever other pictures make it up here:) Time flies.

First day of School!!!!!

The first day of school for Lucas was today:) He has preschool Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. He was so ready. Nathan was sad when he got out of the truck! His hair looks normal already. He got some scissors a few weeks ago and I thought for sure I would have to do some explaining for the first day of school, but you can hardly tell!!! I sure treasure these days!!

what a month

wow- what a month. I don't even know where to begin. Nathan had an accident and broke his collar bone- walked in front of a swing. That was so sad but he is a trooper and seems to be almost normal already, well normal for Nathan:) For his birthday, we decided not to have a big friend party and just celebrate with family- he loved it. We went to the zoo, then had dinner and cake. We surprised him with a play house- his reaction was priceless. When he was better we went to the pool with cookies...that counts as a party, right?

Lucas is on a soccer team....yes that is correct...I am a soccer mom. It is really fun to watch. The hardest part is to get the teams to go in the right direction. He loves it though.

But despite Nathans mishap- we still had an amazing summer and so thankful for everything!!!

9 year anniversary

Josh and I celebrated our 9th year of marriage~crazy. Here is a little video I made him. Man we have so many great memories!

Jersey is the best, I dont care what people say:) We had a great week in Wildwood yet again...even if the sun never came out and we all gained ten pounds from the yummy food. Lucas and Nathan didnt care about the sun as long as the waves kept crashing and the sand was there:) They had a great time pushing trucks all over the place. Two boys, no babies, wow. We had a great time with a lot of family. The boys got to see some cousins and even great grandparents again. When we got home, Lucas went up to my friend Alissa and said,"Hey want to hear a secret? Mommmom doesn't have any hair!!!! And she wears a constume on her head!!!!!!!!!!"
Oh to have a four year old's mind for a day.

And can I just say how amazing it is to have a grandfather who not only is in great shape(I am referring to my grandfather although Papa Ed is in pretty darn good shape himself) plus he has a facebook and to top it all off....he learned how to play Eukre in one day and kicked my butt!!!!

So stinking cute. He also told me that he was a little sad that God can't sleep with him tonight, I said why is that? He said He is with the flowers now. (If you read the blog before this, he gave some God to the flowers, which now I know he thought he was giving all of His love) We went on to talk about how big God is and how he loves everyone and can be a part of everyone's hearts if they let him. He said," wow, God really loves us. But I hope he never puts me in a time out."


Oh and to top it off. We went on the boat yesterday and Lucas brought his work bench goggles to block the wind. He kept them on all night. I have a feeling they will be on all summer.

Lucas sayings and First time on Potty

I just need to write some Lucas quotes before I forget:

- we planted seeds together the other day, and he said "mom, when are they going to grow?" I said God needs to make them grow and we need to wait. He said, "How about I throw a little God at them." I said what?? and looked over to see him grab his heart like he was taking some God out and throw it at the seeds....seriously...why dont I think like that????

- He called Rik and Rene to say happy anniversary, and he said "Happy annibirthday Nana and Papa!" Even when we corrected him, he liked that better.

- My friend Rachel is here for a few days. She comes in and Lucas is trying to come up with things to show her and tell her. Then I see him raise his shirt and say, "I have nipples." I said Lucas why are you showing her your nipples? He cupped his hands and whispered very loudly.."becuase I love her mom."

- The seeds popped out yesterday and Lucas was very excited. He asked me if he could hold onto the pot, and I said sure. He proceeded to talk to the plant and say,"shhhhhh, its ok baby seed, your daddy is here."

We brought up the old potty chair from downstairs because Nathan always has to be in the same room as Lucas when he pees. Today I took his diaper off, Lucas showed him how to "tuck it down" and Nathan dripped a little and got scared and I said "keep going buddy that's the way to do it." so he pushed more and peed in the potty!!!!!! I think Lucas was more excited than I was. So cute.

Plus, I love you mom and dad- but I have listened to Papa oom mow mow one more time...actually I love every minute of it.

Oh man

Oh man, I got a bit behind in my blogging..... but man what a day. Nathan is at that age, you know the age where no matter how well you think you are watching him, he gets into something so fast that you can't explain it to your husband. Lets see, a few days ago(in the same day) Nathan got red cough medicine and poured it on our bedroom floor, which is now pink. About an hour later, I fed them breakfast, came upstairs to get socks...came downstairs and the syrup from breakfast was all over Nathans hands and face, and my blue couch. Well, today, it happened again. I try to be productive(really honey, I do try to clean) and the more I clean the more mess he makes somewhere else. I was trying to clean the counters off, and I hear Lucas say, "Mom, Look at Nathan" so I did. Vaseline. All over his hair, fingers and now the leather couch. So we cleaned, we changed. An hour later, I am trying to clean out the laundry room. Nathan is quiet. I get nervous. I go look for him....he is in the bathroom and dumped fragrant oil all over himself. This one needed a bath. Lucas was great. He took the role of daddy and helped me take Nathan upstairs and wanted to give Nathan a bath for me. So I put Nathan in and pretended to not watch and Lucas soaped him down and told him he needs to be more careful and proceeded to play the bath games with Nathan that Josh and I do to them. Oh man. What a day. What a period of life. I love my family.

Recently, we celebrated lucas's 4th bday. Instead of people bringing toys for him, we had people bring toys for Toys for Tots. He did awesome, never complained once and I think his heart even grew a little. We had a great night!!!! Wonderful memories, I hope he is old enough to remember.

Also, the boat is in the water:) Let summer begin.....

Spring Break 09

How many more awesome vacations with multiple generations is God going to give us?! What an incredible time we had. wow. First we went to Orlando, spent a few days at downtown Disney and one day at Magic Kingdom. Those memories will last a lifetime!! Lucas did not know how to react at first, I think he was overwhelmed- but as the day went on, he loved it. Especially when Buzz made his deput to our day. He has been asking to go back every day since. We didnt know what to expect out of Nathan, but I think he may have enjoyed it more than Lucas!!! If I had a dollar for every time he gasped or pointed....man it was cute. He loved Cinderella, well he loved picking her nose at least.. 7 adults for 2 kids..I think they had a good time.

After Orlando, we went to Sarasota for a week with Rik and Rene. Jenny, Matt and Wyatt were there too- first vacation with cousins!! We spent time at the beach and the pool- though Nathan was not a fan of the beach because it was windy so sand was everywhere, and Lucas wanted to stay at the pool, which meant one of us spend the whole time chasing Nathan around and around the pool since he does not like to go in it.. Lucas got to catch his first fish out on Uncle Al's boat! We also got to see a lot of Great Grandparents and other family members. And on top of it all, Josh got a tan...
